Rio Bec Route. Hidden faces in the jungle

A trip to discover Mayan temples rather than visit them, to look into the eyes of eternity.

Three Mayan cities lost in the lush jungle:

Xpujil and the beautiful Temple of the three towers. Becan, the fortified. Chicanná, the house of Itzamna.

Fabulous Mayan sites showing architectural grandeur and revealing the mysteries of splendor and fall of the Mayan civilization.

Visiting: Archaeological sites of Chicanná, Becán and Xpujil.

Pick up: 6:00 am.

Meeting point: Hotel lobby.

Itinerary:

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Meeting in the hotel lobby.
  2. Arrival to the town of Escárcega and time for breakfast.
  3. Transfer and visit to Chicanná to see its main constructions as the Structure XX and Structure II, which have the best preserved facades in this region.
  4. Visit to Becán, the great capital of this area called Rio Bec. Becan is a not so famous but truly impressive site because of the large number of monumental buildings and remains of art in stucco as well as being surrounded by a moat of enormous proportions.
  5. Transfer to Xpujil, small place with one of the most interesting buildings in this area.
  6. Time for lunch.
  7. Return to Campeche.
